Are you Fruitful?
‘Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness’ – Col. 2:7 [NLT]
Life that bears right fruit is that life that heaven reckons with. The longevity of your fruitfulness is a function of how rooted you are. So let’s begin the word for today on the note of rendering these words to God in prayers –
‘God may I be fruitful, cause me to produce right fruits that will make the right impact for your kingdom’
I can imagine you are wondering why God has been emphasizing the place of fruitfulness ever since we started this year (check out daily devotional ‘In His Footstep’ for details) It is because God expects us to produce right fruit this year and only men of depth can make deep impact and surface men can make superficial impact; only men with the right attitude can sustain fruitfulness, pursue diligence and strife to be who God want them to them to be. This set of men can beckon on God to pour Himself upon them and God won’t be disappointed because our God is not a waster of resources. God truly seeks for men with right attitudes, men that follow Christ’s step each day and ever ready to be guided. It is important that you get deep; God expressed His intention in Isaiah about His children (read Isaiah 27:6 & 37:31) ‘... grow deep and shot up’
So as we move to another series of study in our devotion, I encourage you to take time to ruminate over God’s word. Are you fruitful? Is your fruit right? How impactful are you really? Let this drive you to your knees to sort things out with God. Remember that God expects that the fruit you bear carry life and light; and wisdom is known by its fruit.
