Wait on God

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

There are times when it seems our friends and families have drained all the energy from us as we give all our time and energy to them. We rush through life without stopping to evaluate where we are going, or what we are doing. Sometimes, the key is stopping, and waiting on GOD. As we slow down and wait on Him, we are reminded of our complete dependence on His strength.

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. Isaiah 40:31(AMP)

GOD intends a wonderful, fruitful life for us and one of the ways to enjoy this fruitful life is to wait on Him. We sometimes seem to grow impatient when we have to wait. Waiting on GOD requires us to stop, cease from our own pursuits and give GOD our total, complete and undivided attention; slowing down to listen to His voice.

Waiting on Him, may mean we set aside all our regular pursuits, and give Him our complete attention. We may have to take time to be alone and sit quietly before Lord and listen for the sound of His voice. For every Word GOD speaks to you is full of living power. We hear Him better when we wait and as we hear Him, His Word gives us the strength to soar and run through the troops.
